Is Baptism Essential to Salvation? was originally written in 1975 in reply to false teachings on justification by faith only and on dispensationalism which had been propounded in a publication by Tom Jenkins of the San Marcos Bible Church. Some of the material in this book was used in a religious discussion held in April 1975 between Jerry Moffitt and Mr. Jenkins.
After chapters on preliminaries, arguments, and quibbles, Moffitt discusses faith versus "faith only" and affirmative arguemtns for the essentiality of baptism. Appendices include a brief consideration of the Greek plus an index of Greek words and phrases, the case for Mark 16:9-20, "church fathers" who spoke in support of baptism, topic and Scripture indices, and a list of helpful books.
