This debate was held on March 7, 1937 in Wichita, KS between
G. K. Wallace and E. E. Stauffer. Formal propositions were not formulated as Stauffer
stated he "would not enter into any arguments.” So he styled the meeting a "conference”
and Wallace suggested that Stauffer present his views on infant baptism first
and he (Wallace) would follow with what he believed the Bible to teach on the subject.
Then, Stauffer was to present his views on the Lord’s Supper and he (Wallace)
would follow with what he believed the Bible to teach on the subject. Only
specific invitations were offered; a general audience was not allowed. The back
of the book reports on the exchange of letters concerning publication of the debate.
