Cooking has always been a part of Dene Ward’s life. She grew
up in a house where they were always feeding someone: a table full of college
students for a home-cooked Sunday dinner, a house full of church family singing
hymns until they became too hoarse to croak and then snacking the rest of the
evening away, neighbors solving the world’s problems over coffee and cake, a
room full of women laughing and chatting through a bridal shower, plus various
friends. All would be fed, and fed well.
She has also fed her share of school pals, girlfriends,
visiting preachers, neighbors, church folks, and many others. On the table, she
has offered a nourishing meal; here she offers this collection to feed your
souls, lessons from her hearth to your heart.
