The Christian Scholar

The Christian Scholar is the biography of Hall Laurie Calhoun, writer teacher, and preacher.  His life began in the 19^th century and ended in the 20^th.  He saw and influenced many of the changes taking place in the church during those tumultuous decades. While still a minister for the Christian church, Calvin was offered a faculty position at the Nashville Bible School if he would renounce instrumental music.  He refused.  Years later he became associate president of freed Hardeman college and renounced all ties with the Christian church.  Calvin was a giant of his times. 243 pages
